Reports in the absence of the Bureau Agent that a Freedman was found near the Va & Tenn R. R. on the 21st inst with his skull badly fractured. He was insenceable and no clue could be obtained (either from him or others) who did it

The bitterness of feeling towards colored people in this place is increasing.
