   I hereby certify that I employed Jackson Wiles fo the year 1867 upon the recommendation of his father   A contract was written but neither of us ever signed it, but witnesses were present which can be produced but think it unnecessary as I do not think there is any disagreement about the contract.  I was to give him two barrels of corn and 60 pounds of bacon, which I have done, and this was all of the fining that I  has to give during the year.  his share of the crop  was to be 1/4 of the corn, 1/4 of the oats, 1/4 of the blade fodder, 1/4 of the Tobacco, 1/4/ of the Hay, Dd wells to pay 1/4 of any additional labor that Sd Rowzie might employ to make the crop.  Sd Rowzie to furnish the team, land, and farming implements.  I pay Blacksmith accounts. Sd Wells to reed the team and attend to all of sd Rowzie's stock and work faithfully during the year.
   In the month of June, sd Wells lost 10 days to  July 12, August 10, do. Total 66 days, for which I charged him in June and July the Harvest months fifty cents per day, for the balance of time lost charged him thirty sesven and a half cents per day The one fourth for labor hired amounting to $11.50 and am account against ad Wells for flour bacon &c sold him during the year of $1.76 which I charged him with, all of which he acknowledged upon our settlement.
