Armstrong General S.C.
Supt.

Genl.
I am directed by the Asst. Comr. to call your attention to the following remarks on your August 1866 Land report, the corrections will be made in your September report.

1st The farm of William Anderson, E.C. Co. was reported by Capt. Wilder as containing 150 acres, this amount has been reported to Washington, you will alter your report to correspond.

2nd On the report of Capt. Wilder for Sept. 1865, Dr. Woods' was reported as having a lot at Camp Hamilton Va., on which was situated a house and outbuildings and was rented to a W.H. Gleason - I entered this item in pencil before returning your August report for correction - it was rubbed out and no remarks whatever made. If the property was incorrectly reported it must be dropped, stating that no such property was ever in possession of the Bureau.

3rd No remarks were made in your August report, altho. attention was called to the matter by pencil marks, as to why the farm of W.H. Curtis Jr. ("Folly Farm,") is now reported as containing 111¾ acres, when it appears on Capt. Wilder's report for September as 15 acres.

It is desirable that your September report should be as correct as possible.

In your August report the boundaries of many of the farms were left out, or rather not given as heretofore.

I would call your attention to an error in making the report of your district which has existed since the September 1865 report and which must be rectified in your next report. You will notice that the description of the lands, calls for the number of cultivated and uncultivated acres, which should give the Total number of acres.

According to your report, the total number

of acres uncultivated, make the total number of acres in the farm, yet at the same time a number of acres are reported as being cultivated. Take Dr. Wood's farm as an example;

[[5 columned table]]
|   | Cultivated | Uncultivated Woodland | Uncultivated Cleared | Total. |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| W.E. Wood - reported as | 150 | - | 160 | 160 |
| W.E. Wood - as it should be | 150 | - | 10 | 160 |

I am General
Yours Respectfully
