This Indenture, made this 22 day of November in the year 1866; between F.M. Kimball Asst Supt Officers of this Bureau, and, by Circular Letter of Major-General Howard, Commissioner, dated October 4th, 1865, Guardian[[strikethrough]]s[[/strikethrough]] of an Orphan Minor Charles Mason colored of the first part, and William S King of this County, of the second part. 

WITNESSETH: 
That the said F.M. Kimball Asst Supt in pursuance of the Circular Letter aforesaid, [[strikethrough]]have[[/strikethrough]]has put and placed, and, by these presents, [[strikethrough]]do[[/strikethrough]] does put and place the said Charles Mason colored aged ten years on the 20 day of November 1866 apprentice to the said Wm S. King with him to dwell and serve, from the date of these presents, until he shall attain his full age of 21 years. And the said F.M. Kimball Asst Supt for [[strikethrough]] themselves [[/strikethrough]] himself, and [[strikethrough]] their [[/strikethrough]] his successor [[strikethrough]]s[[/strikethrough]] [[strikethrough]] do [[/strikethrough]] does hereby covenant and agree to and with the said Wm S. King his executors and administrators, that he the said Charles Mason the said Wm S King his master, shall and will faithfully serve in all lawful business according to his ability, and honestly and obediently, in all things demean and [[?]] himself towards his master, during the said apprenticeship, and the said W S. King for himself, his heirs, &c., doth covenant and agree to and with the said and F.M. Kimball Asst Supt and [[strikethrough]] their [/strikethrough]] his successor[[strikethrough]]s[[/strikethrough]], by these presents, that he, the said, Wm S. King shall and will teach the said Charles Mason or cause him to be taught the art & [[?]] of farms in the best way that he can during the said term, and will during all the term aforesaid find, provide unto his competent and sufficient food, meat, drink, apparel, lodging, washing, and all things necessary and fit for an apprentice. 
And the said William S. King doth covenant and agree with the said F.M. Kimball Asst Supt. and [[strikethrough]] their [[/strikethrough]] his successors, that he will pay the sum of twenty five (25) dollars to said apprentice when he shall attain his full age of 21 years.
