   In compliance with instructions received from your office date Sept 24th 1868 I respectfully make the following Statement of the leave of absence granted me by S.O. 103.  I arrived in Richmond Friday Night Sept 5th the next day Saturday I received verbal orders from the Asst Commr to return at once to my Station, the Asst Commr. having received a telegram from the S.A. Commr of the 7th Sub Dist. that their was trouble in my division The Asst Commr. told me that when things become quiet I could return to Richmond I returned to my Station Sunday Sept 7th and found evrything quiet and orderly.  I arrived in Richmond Tuesday Night Sept 9th the second time in accordance with my understanding with the Asst Commr Wednesday  Sept 10th I received a further extension of my leave of absence from the Asst Commr to enable me to transact my business which I finished and returned to my Station as per my letter of date Sept 17th.
