Bureau Refugees, Freedmen & Abandoned Lands,
Head Quarters 10th Sub-District of Virginia.

ALEXANDRIA, Va., November 23rd 1868
Rev. R. M. Manly

Supt. of Education, Dist. of Va.
Richmond, Va.,

My Dear Sir: -
I would respectfully recommend that ten (10) dollars per month from November 1st 1868 be allowed for rent of a room for school purposes at Leesburg. The new school house there will not be ready for occupancy before 1st of January; and Rev William O. Robey has commenced a school - but it will have to be discontinued if the Bureau does not pay the rent of the room. He has 15 scholars last month; and charges 75¢ per month per scholar- but they do not pay promptly, and he cannot go on with his school unless he receive rent for his room.

Very Respectfully
Your Obt. Servt.
