Captain:
I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your communication of the 22d instant, returning for reconsideration my letter applying to be relieved and granted leave of absence, with an order changing my station to Staunton, Virginia, and in reply would most respectfully state, that while appreciating the motives which prompted this action of the Assistant Commissioner, I must still request that my application of the 19th instant, which is returned, herewith, be forwarded to the Adjutant General of the Army, as I am advised by my Physician, and believe, that relaxation from duty and change of climate are essential to the restoration of my health:  I would also respectfully request that "Special Orders No. 128 be suspended until my application can be heard from.
