Sir,

At your request, I respectfully state, that in a conversation with Miss M. Parrish in regard to rents and the restoration of her property, near Newport News, I think in Dec. last, I gave her an order to collect the rents on her place, as fixed upon for last year, and, also, agreed to favor the restoration fully of her property, on the condition that the colored people on the place should be allowed to remain undisturbed another year, on paying a reasonable rent. 

To this she agreed

Not long after, I was informed that Mr. White had hired the place and had order the people off - I notified him & them, that this would not be
