The colored people have bought & paid for the lot have put up a school house not yet paid for. This amount of rent is very necessary to enable them to get along & help pay for their house. The teacher is a colored man & his pupils pay him 50 cts a month on its equivalent in corn meal. Bacon &c. No further aid than this $15. is required This is however very much needed. This school will if a little aid is now given continue. self supporting after this winding up of the Bureau. I have been pushing this movement ever since I came. & have interested Maj Cecil, a prominent citizen in the matter. It is sure with a little help to stand I therefore hope the $15. will be allowed
