Remington Bvt. Maj. J.H. Sub. Asst. Comr, 137/143 Major, I am directed by the Asst. Commissioner to inform you that the Hon. Isaac Newton, Commissioner of Agriculture, has been requested to furnish garden seeds, to each A.S.A. Comr. and Agent of this Bureau, (to be forwarded direct) for the use of the Freedmen in this State. You will instruct your Assistants to distribute the seeds amongst the Freedmen on their arrival.
