General,
I am so fully convinced of the correctness of my opinion in regard to the proper course to be adopted for the education of colored teachers, and that I cannot carry it out unless the societies in New York will give up their present plans, that I wish to visit New York for a a personal conference as suggested by Maj. Genl. Howard.
Will you please send me an order for this purpose.
I am, General
Very Respectfully
