Paris, July 12th 1938

Dear Bob,

Cesar is writing to you that we are forced to give up the Braque and La Fresnaye shows, and that we are just going to keep the Picasso and the Juan Gris. I am glad therefore you did not rush any final arrangements with the catalogue publishers.

I have just had a very long talk with a person from Chicago, who is very well posted, and who tells me that the leading decorator probably to-day, is a Miss, or Mrs Cornelia Conger, who gets the best jobs, and she is furthermore very well placed socially.

Furthermore, we have the confirmation that Adler, the architect, gives all his jobs to his sister, a Mrs Elkins. You know, of course, that Adler is THE architect in Chicago, and that we have never been able to do anything with or through him. Why not try through his sister.

Van Gogh drawing: I am giving instructions to have it shipped to you from London as soon as Matthiesen is through with it.

R.M. Levy esq.,
New York.
