Dear Mr. Seligmann:

Pursuant to my letter to you of July 6th, I am glad to inform you that Mr. Harding has consented to have the Raeburn, "Portrait of Sir Robert Hodshon Cay" shipped to Paris any time after the 1st of October under the following conditions:—

1. He gives us permission to have the painting cleaned and is willing to bear one-half of this expense.

2. Regarding insurance, Mr. Harding tells me that he would give his insurance company instructions to also cover this picture while in your custody, but additional premiums would be at your charge.

3. All expenses in connection with the shipment are to be borne by you.

4. If these conditions are agreeable to you, Mr. Harding is perfectly willing to let you have the painting for a period of from two to three months.

Will you be good enough to inform me if the above meets with your approval so that I may confirm these conditions to Mr. Harding before leaving for my vacation at the beginning of August.

Very sincerely yours,

M. Georges Seligmann
