Dear Mr. Séligmann:

I beg to enclose herein statement of Mr. de Hauke's commission account as of June 30th, 1938 showing a debit balance of $971.99 which, of course, was caused by our payment to him of May 18th in the sum of $2,500. However, at that time it was agreed with Mr. de Hauke that this sum would be deducted immediately from the commission which will ultimately be due him on our sale of the Renoir painting to Mr. Clark, as I furthermore specified on the statement.

Will you be good enough to examine this statement and subsequently turn it over to Mr. de Hauke.

Thanking you, I am

Yours faithfully,

Germain Séligmann, Esq.

Paris, France
