September 7th., 1943.

Dear Jacqueline:

Your mother told me of the trouble you have had with Tiffany & Co., and I am certainly sorry to hear about this, and further, that my wedding gift to you should have been so long delayed.

In view of this I have cancelled my order at Tiffany's and am enclosing herein my check for $16., which they have reimbursed.

I would have preferred making the purchase myself, but I realize, on the other hand, that a young couple is in need of so many things that you might find it of greater advantage to spend the money the way you like. Whatever you will acquire, let me express the wish that you both will enjoy it for a great many years, in full happiness.

With my kindest thoughts to you and Pete,

Sincerely yours,

(Germain Séligmann)
