March 27th., 1943. My dear Mrs. Gunther: I attended the meeting of March 15th., at the Waldorf and was most impressed by the speech you gave. I therefore wrote a little while ago to Mr. Billy Rose asking him for copies of the speeches which had been delivered that evening, as I want personally to approach some of my friends who remain aloof and seemingly indifferent. Among these, I am very anxious to have a copy of your's. I know that several of course, were extemporaneous, but I seem to recall that you had notes, which you may have kept. If so, would you mind supplying me with a couple of copies? As we are cooperating towards the same end, I trust you will not mind the liberty I am thus taking. Thanking you in anticipation, Your very sincerely, (Germain Séligmann) Mrs. Frances Gunther, c/o Committee for a Jewish Army, 535 Fifth Avenue, New York, N.Y.
