May 17, 1950 Dear Mr. Seligman: We take pleasure in enclosing herein our check on J.P. Morgan in the sum of $1,200.- (One thousand two hundred 00/100 dollars) being in full payment of our sale of your drawing by Georges Seurat which you had given us on consignment for sale as per enclosed credit note. In view of the fact that said drawing was sold by us below your consignment price which is also your cost price, we understand that you cannot give us a commission on this transaction as your loss thereon is very substantial. Yours very truly, Jacques Seligmann & Co., Inc. (O. A. Liechti) Mr. Germain Seligman 47 East 61st Street New York 21, N.Y.
