December 23, 1969

Dear Mr. Hornstein:

It gave me indeed much pleasure to receive your letter of December 19th and thus to learn of your decision to purchase the drawing representing a "View of the Galleria at the Palazzo Farnese", by PANNINI, for the sum of U.S.$6,650.

In view of the considerable delays in shipment caused by accumulations due to the Christmas season I will postpone sending the drawing until next week. It will then be shipped to your home, by Air Express.

It is at present in an XVIIIth century gilt frame which I had carefully chosen, the drawing being of that period, and I am taking the liberty of forwarding it in this gilt frame, with plexiglass, of course. However, should you have strong feelings towards a black surrounding I will be only too glad to order one as soon as I will have had heard from you accordingly.

Let me say also that your proposition of payment "within 90 days or sooner" is perfectly agreeable.

I shall write anew next at which time I will mail the necessary documents for Customs purposes.

With the Season's Greetings,

Yours very sincerely,

Germain Seligman
