Dear Joe:

Herewith you will find my Firm's invoice relating to the drawing by PEYRON - "Socrate détachant Alcibiade des charmes de la volupté" - purchased by your Museum for the sum of $1,000.

This drawing will undoubtedly present a double attraction for your students, one, of course, is its esthetic merit, and the other the historical event it represents, for Alcibiade played indeed a great role in the history of Greece.

It will be shipped to you momentarily, fully insured by my Firm up to its delivery, all expenses prepaid, by air express.

Would you be so good as to return one of the two enclosed shipping forms, with your signature, thus acknowledging the safe arrival of the case.

I should add that this work was much admired in our exhibition and do let me express my appreciation for having allowed us to keep it this long.

With warm regards,

Yours,

Germain Seligman
