C. H. Slater and Mrs F. C. Slater addressed at Graves Landing Lowndes Co. Ala.
The names of the Colored Teachers are unknown.

"Swayne School" condition ordinary, capacity 200 Scholars - value unknown, owned by Barnett Macon & Co. and rented by the Bureau.
"   School" (in basement of Col'd Methodist School & condition good, capacity 150 Scholars Value unknown, owned by the Col'd Methodist Church.
"Loftin School" condition ordinary, capacity 150 Scholars value and Owner unknown rented (half) by the Bureau
"Yankee Town" School" at Graves Landing condition and value unknown, capacity 50 Scholars owned by J V McDuffie rented by the Bureau.

9.  Number and names of places, now destitute, in which Day-Schools might be organized?
Hayneville, Lowndesboro & Benton in Lowndes Co and Mt Meiggs and Athens in Montgomery Co. Wetumpka Elmore Co and Prattville Autauga Co. There is other places in Coosa & Tallapoosa Co's that need schools, but it would be very difficult to organize them. 
10.  Number of pupils (estimated) who would attend such Schools?
Hayneville 150 Scholars, Lowndesboro 75 day  Benton 40 day
Mr Meiggs 50, Athens 40, Wetumpka 200 day and Prattville 50 day 
Total 605 Scholars 
11.  Amount which would probably be raised by the Freedmen, for school purposes, in each destitute neighborhood?  The Colored people being very poor, cannot as yet contribute but very little to erection of Buildings and the support of Teachers.
12.  What efforts are you making to secure the support of schools by pupils, parents, boards of education, or the State government?  Several neighborhoods have proposed to furnish Buildings for school Houses if Teachers can be supplied.
13.  Whole number of additional School-houses, for Freedmen, now wanted in your Sub-District?
Several, Viz. Hayneville, Lowndesboro, Benton, Prattville, Wetumpka, Mt Meiggs and Athens Ala
14.  Could you organize your Sub-District into School Districts, each with a School Committee pledged to carry on schools therein?  No
15.  To what extent would help from without be needed in such cases?  In the supply of Teachers.
16.  What is the public sentiment as to the education of the Freedmen and Poor Whites?  In Most cases the people are in favor of educating them. 
17.  Are Night-Schools for Adults needed in your District?  Yes
In what way could they be carried on?  If more Teachers could be supplied
18.  What more can this Bureau do for educating the children of Refugees (or Poor Whites)?  The several Boards of Eductation [[Education]] of the Counties provides for the education of the poor Whites to a great extent.
19.  How long will Northern charitable aid be needed for Freedmen and Refugee Schools of your District?  Until the State becomes able to provide for and establish schools for the Freedmen and Refugees.
