Referring to the letter of Thos. P. Jackson, Agt., dated Staunton, Va., Dec. 28/67., the Asst. Comr of Ala. reports upon the case, as follows., "The freedwoman Rebecca Johnson & two children are at Eastaboga. As they are without means, it is recommended, that transportation be granted from Rome, Ga., to Staunton, Va. & that the $20 be forwarded to this office, to defray expenses from Eastaboga, Ala. to Rome Ga. 
The $20 referred to, was deposited by Richard Johnson, to aid in transporting his family
