Lieut. Sears,

Dear Sir

I received your letter a few days since and would have replied to it by return mail but did not have time to answer it on account of my little son's sickness.  I would like for you to come to my house and make some inquiries in relation to [[strikethrough]] my [[/strikethrough]] the accounts between Robert West & Clayton, as by their statement they differ very much from those I shall make which I propose to make by persons living at & near my house.  Please let me know whether you will come to my house to adjust the claims between us or let me know where I shall meet you with my papers and witnesses.  I am willing to settle fairly with the two named Roberts but would like to have Justice done to me at the same time for to my knowledge they only done six days work from the
