War Department,
Bureau Refugees, freedmen, and Abandoned Lands, 

Washington, D.C., February 10th 1868

Mr. Ludwig Eissinger's hereby appointed a Clerk in the Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen, and Abandoned Lands, State of Virginia at a salary of Sixty (60) dollars per month 
This appointment is made under the provisions of "An Act to continue in force and amend an Act to establish a Bureau for the relief of Freedmen and Refugees, and for other purposes."  It will take effect February 11, 1868 and remain in force until revoked by orders from this Office.

The oath required by law will be taken, and filed in the office of the last Commissioner of the State of Virginia
