Respectfully returned to Major R.S. Lacey S.A.C & with the information that R H Woddell was tried on the 4th day of August 1868 (ie the decision of the Jury was on that day) that the names of the members of the court were Micajals Davis J.P. and acting presiding Justice N.F. Thaxton J.P. Cornelius Pate and W.W. Joplin 

M Davis was Coroner prior to the war and voted for the ratification of the ordnonce of Secession  N F Thaxton was a J.P. before during and since the war. Cornelius Pate was a J.P. prior to the war and voted for ordnonce of Secession. W. W. Joplin is not disfranchised.
