8th The "Lincoln" School at Eastville Northampton Co is conducted by Miss Patten and Miss Dixie (white) from Brooklyn N.Y. The land and building belong to freedman and with what provision has already been made there is no reason why this most prosperous school should not continue year after year. Tuition is required. Salaries are paid by the American Missionary Association of N.Y.

9th The "Smith" School, Accomac Co., is taught by a remarkably bright capable colored girl whose labor has been highly successful, and benefitted that precinct not a little. The people provide board by paying tuition and the A.M.A of New York furnishes her salary.

10th At Bridgetown there is an excellent school most ably taught by Miss Orcutt — who, I have just learned, has been compelled to return home by reason of death in her family.
