General:
The Commissioner directs that you aid to the amount of $500. five hundred dollars in the construction of a school building near Scottsville, Albemarle Co. Va on the farm of W. Gordon Merrick.

If the funds in Virginia are exhausted you can draw on the Chief Disbursing Officer for the amount above named.

Your attention is invited to the condition of a school-building erected by Northern men at Charlottesville Va, said to be unused for school purposes.
