I have the honor to acknowledge receipt of communication from War Department, Bureau &c, of the 17th inst., inviting attention to the condition of a school-building erected by Northern men at Charlottesville Va, and most respectfully request information as to the names of the persons erecting the same, in order that they can be written to regarding it, as the communication of the Maj. Gen'l. Commissioner is the first intimation this Bureau has received of the existance [[existence]] of such a building.
