Comr., enclosing Ann Glenn's sworn statement concerning the abduction of her son Alex. Stevens Glenn by Henry Carter (cold.) &c - and request to be informed as to the action taken in this case.

In reply to a communication from the 
Adjutant Genl's office, dated Washington, August 13th 1867, addressed to the Maj. Genl Commissioner, making enquiry "whether the services of Capt. G. Mallery, 43rd U.S. Infy: can be spared from the duties he is now performing, with a view to his being ordered to his regiments" - of which communication an official copy was referred to the Asst. Comr. of Va., for reports - I have the honor to report, that the services of Capt. Mallory cannot be dispensed with without serious injury to the Bureau in this District.
