Baltimore 15 April 1865

Capt. William Fowler
A A Q M
Washington

Dear Sir
Could you furnish me with any recent orders issued by Col Brown in relation to the Timber on W.E. Taylor's farm in Norfolk County which Mr T writes me Capt. Flagg persists in disregarding and to which I would again invite your attention. Capt F insists that under his orders he is bound to remove all the timber logs cut on the land of 11 feet in length, and to account to the Q. Master Department for them. Mr Taylor writes that Col Brown issued a preemptory order last week to stop the removal of the timber but that it is still going on. Can this be right?

I should be glad to hear about Judge Bakers case. Please restore him.
Asking your attention to the above matter.

I am very truly yours
Tazewell Taylor
