Respectfully referred to Mr. Wm H. Hunt with special reference to the within questions by Col. O. Brown. Asst. Com.

C. B. Wilder
Capt & A.Q.M.
Supt 9 Dist.

Hampton Va Feb 4th 1866

Respectfully returned with answer, that in 1864, I caused to be cut under my agents directions wood on Miner Place Mulbery Island. Hon. Geo. S. Smith acted as my agent at that time, since Mr. W H. Gleason was agent. In 1865 I sold the wood to Messrs White and Chahoon, now of the True Southern. Am not advised whether they have removed the wood. I know of no other wood being cut there.

W. H. Hunt

The work was performed by freedmen.
