Sir.
I hasten to address you a few lines, concerning a Gold wach that was sold to a colerd man by the name of Nick Taylor, by Mr Jos. Wells in Manchester. The said Joseph Wells was to receive for me $8.00 Eight hundred dollars in Confederate money of Nick Taylor in cash. I have never received a cent on my watch. I have been for it once and my husband has also been for it. I appeal to you to intercede in my behalf, in getting my watch or its value, witch Mr Wells said was $1.00/00 one hundred or $1.25 100/00 I have been compeled to leave Richmond and Mr Wells said he would attend to the matter for me
