The following named officers are hereby appointed a Board to investigate into the ability of the occupants of Chimborazo Barracks to pay rent, and to decide upon the amount of rent, if any, to be paid by each person. -

The Board will, afterwards, make an appraisal of the clothing to be sold to the Freedmen and now in Maj. Felt's storehouse.

I So far as any jurisdiction of this Bureau extends over it the property of John Dunderdale, consisting of three small houses, situated in Portsmouth, Va is restored to him with all the rights and privileges of ownership, subject to the following conditions, viz:

1st The property will be turned over to Mr. Dunderdale upon the expiration of the lease to any third party or parties, if any exists

2nd That nothing in this order be construed as

entitling him to compensation for damages to the property, or to rents which may have accrued.

II  So far as any jurisdiction of this Bureau extends over it, the property of Mrs. Rebecca McCandlish of Williamsburg, Va consisting of a farm known as "Bellefield", situated in York Co. Va., is restored to her with all the rights and privileges of ownership, subject to the requirements of Circular no. 3, War Dept Bureau R.F. & A.L. Washington D.C. 22nd May 1865, with all the rights and privileges of ownership, subject to the requirements of Circular No 3, War Dept. Bureau R.F. & A.L. Washington D.C. with such arrangements for the comfort of the freed people now living there, as can be satisfactorily made, and upon this condition, - that nothing in this order be construed as entitling her to compensation for damages to the property as to rents which may have accrued.

The use of the house will be allowed her at once, if it can be done without detriment to the interests of the parties now there.

All personal property of Mrs. McCandlish now in possession of agents of this Bureau will be restored to her without delay.

Capt. C.B. Wilder, A.Q.M., & Supt &c 9th Dist. will see that this order meets with immediate execution.

III In conformity to orders from the War Dept. Bureau R.F. & A.L. the Superintendent of the 6th District.
