Remington. Mr. W.S. Forrest. [[/left margin]] I. So far as any jurisdiction of this Bureau extends over it, the property of Mr. W.S. Forrest, consisting of a house and lot, situated in the City of Norfolk, Va is restored to him with all the rights and privileges of ownership upon the following conditions, viz:— 1st The property will be restored to Mr. W.S. Forrest, upon the expiration of the lease to any third party, or parties, if any exists. 2nd That nothing in this order be construed as entitling the owner to compensation for damages to the property, or to rents which may have accrued. The following Officers of this Bureau having been appointed Registering Officers under the Act of Congress of March 23rd, 1867, will proceed without delay, to discharge their duties as such under instructions from the Commanding General of the District. [[/left margin]] Officers of this Bureau charged with the duties of Military Commissioners under General Orders No 31, and 33, Current Series, Hd Quarters First Military District, will, in addition to the reports required of them by said orders, report through the Sub. Asst. Commission to these Head Quarters all cases in which the rights of Freedmen are involved, of which they take cognizance, with the final disposition of such cases. Civilian agents in charge of Divisions, will report all cases requiring the action of a Military Commissioner, to the Commissioner most convenient of access, to their stations. O. Brown Bvt. Brig.
