I.. Captain Garrick Mallery, Bvt Major U.S.A. Actg Inspctr 
Genl. Bureau R.F. and A. Lands, District of Virginia, will 
proceed to Alexandria, Va. for the purpose of examining the condition of the Freedmans Hospital at that place. He will consult with the Sub-A. Comr at Alexandria, Va. with a view to the discontinuance of the above mentioned Hospital, the transfer of the patients to the Civil Authorities, the opening of Dispensaries for the distribution of medicine to the sick, and the discharge of one of the Medical Officers in the employ of the Bureau at that place.-

Hambrick 45th U.S. Infty. all Book, papers and property, pertaining to this Bureau for which he is accountable taking receipts therefore.

Bvt: Maj: U.S.V. to whom he will receipt for all Bureau and Quartermasters property pertaining to this Bureau, for which Major Stone is responsible.-
