2. Brevet Lieutenant Colonel H. B. Reed, U. S. A, 1st Lieutenant 5th U.S. Artillery, is hereby relieved from the duty to which he was assigned in paragraph 2, of Special Orders No. 23, from these Head Quarters, dated April 15th, 1867, and will proceed to join his proper company in the Second Military District. 
Colonel Reed has permission to delay joining his company sufficient time to enable him to hear from an application for assignment to duty in the Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands, District of Virginia.
