By direction of the Commanding General, you are hereby relieved from duty as Military Commissioner for the City of Petersburg, Virginia.

You will turn over all books papers and records to Brevet Major General Geoge Stoneman. U.S.A. Commanding Sub District of Petersburg, or to the officer he may designate to receive them.
