Sir: I have the honor to forward the following for your Adjudication: -

Henry Ireland, a freedman, now residing in my District, and who I'm pleased to say is an honest, industrious laborer, (this I gather, from some of the best Planters in my charge)- worked for Mr. E.F. Moody, from Jany 1st 1866 to Oct 1st 1866. Mr. Moody, at that time, "turned off," without cause, all his hands, said Moody, lives in Hinds Co. Miss. I trust you will do your best in this case. - Contract enclosed. and I shall be happy to correspond with you on the matter.
