The bearer Nelson Franchess obtained supplies through me to rain a crop the present year and I fear has made a failure in paying it off with his crop and I have attached by his estate personal all he has raised and it now stands locked from his use and he wishes you to send a guard accompanied by the Judge Advocate to investigate the matter

A great many others are in a destitute condition from the same cause and are being daily caught killing of stock to
sustain life. If you could get a guard and a speedy trial with little cost it would be an advantage to the whites and they too

When the property is attached we have to move it immediately off or it will be stolen and not one in a hundred of them can make a treasury bond and these cases all go to a court of sequestration which puts a trial possibly a year off During this time they
