Captain, I have the honor to submit the following for your consideration and action. Sally Catchings, freedwoman complains that she owns a plantation near Terry, Hinds County. Miss. that John F. Guymes, a white person, contracted with her for the present Year, for a share of the crop, the said Guymes has on Saturday shipped eleven (11) bales of cotton to Vicksburg without Sallie's consent and I would therefore respectfully request that if possible you levy on the eleven bales, under G.O. No 19, Hd Qrs., 4th Military Dist, as the woman has no doubt been unjustly treated by said
