NARA 156

Clinton December 26th

Capt Huggins -
Asst. Comms'r

Dr Sir;
Washington, Gale, & Peter Brown & others complain to me that C Taylor & Bro, in whose employ they were last year, have settled their accounts unjustly, and that said parties hold their portion of Cotton - They desire that said Taylor & Bro be ordered not to move the Cotton until the matter can be settled by arbitration, as prescribed by Genl. Orders. I formerly owned one of the parties and have always found him correct and just-

I do not wish my name to appear in the matter, as the parties live near me, and they have some ill will against, owning to my actions in an Official Capacity during the life of the Confederate Govmt-

The papers in the Case of Miller, were sent to [[strikethrough]] Capt [[/strikethrough]] Maj. Sumner by Judge Clark -

Yrs Very Truly,
Chas A Chilton
