NARA 187 part of the cotton crop, at Tugaloo - leaving an abundant quantity to answer any claims of the Freedmen. I am told that the latter have been already overpaid in supplies &c furnished them; & therefore they have no claim - but, if they have, it cannot affect the cotton thus levied on, until the balance is exhausted. I cannot see [[strikethrough]] why [[/strikethrough]] how Mr. Wiley can claim as against the attachment - for he is one of the parties sued, and whatever interest he may have in the cotton is bound by the levy. If an order has been issued to release the levy I respectfully ask that it may be suspended, & the shipment of the cotton prevented, until Dr. Dulaney can be heard in defense of his interests. Richardson against the same parties, or some of them - an order in Richardson's case could not properly affect Dulaney, unless it directed the delivery of the cotton levied on by the latter. P
