NARA 191

Terry Miss - Dec 30th 1867

A. P. Huggins Esq
Freedmens Bureau
Jackson, Miss

Sir
Your note of the 28th inst, addressed to Mr Dunn, has been shown to me by this Gentleman. In this you regard the settlement of my accounts, by Mr Dunn as a compromise - between the Freedman & myself - I am sure you will remember - that you suggested Mr Dunn as a proper Juror to settle & adjust accounts.

Now my Freedman selected him I selected him & you suggested him - & if a more just Board could have been selected or one more in accordance with the spirit of Genl Ords order, I cannot conceive it - & hence I cannot regard Mr Dunns decision as a compromise, which the Bureau is not bound to enforce, but as a finality which I have endeavored to advise
