I. Nightfall
You had chosen windows across from the round-rail fence on which, like a hitchhiker, leaned the rose vine. But with one chew night polished off the fence as if it were bread and the roses rode away on noiseless wheels. 
II. At the T.V. Set
That night in September she knew she'd been taken. When brickwork nor plaster nor guarantees proffered by real estate agent, nor cricket, nor murmur of maple succeeded in keeping out brother, that night in September she knew she'd been cheated. That night in September she knew she'd been had when miles did not matter, when rage roared around her in Attica yard.
