Southern U. and Antioch: The Same Problem

THE RECENT atrocities at Southern University which resulted in the brutal slaying of two Black youths by the state authorities are but a further manifestation of the deepening social crisis in American institutional life.

Perhaps because the high schools, colleges, and universities have, along with the working poor, provided the soldiers for the continuing social revolution in this country, they (the schools) are systematically undergoing a thorough scuttling.

While the scuttling process has its most brutal and vulgar expression in the Orangeburg Massacre, the Kent State, Jackson State, and most recently the tragedy at Southern University, the American public is generally unaware of the sophisticated manner in which the so-called "liberal-left" are being used in the systematic dismantling of the American educational process.

The effects of these schools, because of their false "radical" posture, have been both quantitatively and qualitatively more dangerous as they have been able to penetrate the communities of Blacks, Chicanos, Puerto Ricans, and poor white communities under their guise as advocates for social justice, when their real program is to function as agents of the state.  Unfortunately these institutions have also been tools in this government's attempt to spread confusion and involve itself in the internal affairs of
