no schools in this county. It is needless for me to urge the necessity of them for it is a matter so well understood, that it needs no comment. We should have at least four in this county,the county being but a few miles wide, and about Twenty seven to thirty miles long there four schools could be placed at such distances from each other to accommodate all the scholars.

I have given very explicit directions in case the small pox makes its appearance here, and have had a goodly number vaccinated. There has but one case made its appearance here and that was immediately disposed of.
