General

I have the honor to report that the Bureau affairs in this Sub Dist are in as favorable condition as could be expected

The Freedmen in this Sub Dist are as a class very industrious and are nearly all working for fair remunerative wages   The demand for labor is much greater than the supply

The feelings that exist between the Whites and Freedmen are as far as I can learn growing more favorable and the prejudices that heretofore has existed between them will be less as they - the Whites - learn by experience that the Freedmen can and will maintain themselves if they have an opportunity

The school in this sub Dist is for this season of the year doing well although the regular attendance for the first month has not been
