General.
I have the honor to report that the feeling existing between the White People and Freedmen of Patrick and Henry Counties, continues to be very good. Numerous arrests of Freedman have occurred and I have attended their trials and have seen no case of injustice done yet, although under the present system of law, a prisoner is oblidged to remain in Jail a number of months before he has a trial, which works badly in several cases I have seen
