[[preprinted]] 17 [[/preprinted]] Remeis Obs., Bamberg Possible Variable discerned visually by [[underlined]] Zinner [[/underlined]] in 1930 When Dr. Fricke visited HCO Week of Sept. 28 he transmitted Zinner’s request that the star in neb be examined on Harvard plates. Searching for the lost BD +41[[symbol - degree symbol]] 1894 he found a nebular star at (1855) 8^[[h]] 51^[[m]] 29^[[s]] +42[[symbol - degree symbol]] 25′, close to the 4^[[m]] star 42[[symbol - degree symbol]] 1956. He found it at 10^[[m]] at 10^[[h]] 10^[[m]] on March 31, 1930. At 10^[[h]] 45 he looked again and found it at 11^[[m]]. No such nebular seen 8 Feb. 1935. Does not believe it was a comet. On 4 Heidelberg plates, 1916 Feb. 5; 1918 Jan. 30; 1920 Feb. 8 and 1925 Jan. 22, found a 14^[[m]] star without nebulosity, and hardly variable. Exam. reg with telescope 1935–1938 44 times, and found it var. from 13.2 to 14.3 “mit gelegentlichem Aufleuchten”. compares with Hertzsprung obj. I examined the star ^[[(on Sept 29 '53)]] on about 200 R.H. ^[[etc]] plates and found no variation by inspection Plates 1930 - 1951. No plates of RH, AC, AI ^[[or MC]] series for discovery date position about half way bet. the 4^[[m]] and a close pair of 9^[[m]] stars: [[table]] | | | | | | | |---|---|---|---|---|---| |BD 42[[symbol - degree symbol]]|1956|4.1^[[m]]|8^[[h]] 51 13.6|+42[[symbol - degree symbol]] 21.3′|1855| | |1958|9.4|51 44.6|+ 25.4| | | |1959|9.4|51 48.2|+ 25.1| | |Var| | |51 29|+42 25| | [[/table]] Plates nearest discovery date: Mar. 29–30, 1930: AC 28239, AI 28075 MC Plates show nothing abnormal: MC 29215 (3^[[h]] star at corner), 18299, 22351, 24773, 2866 lim. at center 18.2^[[m]]
