with larceny. There are  none of these cases at present in Greene Co. and there has been none since I became Asst. Supt. of that County  There seems to be an abatement of the opposition to the education of Freedmen   A colored man from the State of Penn'a has started a small school in the only building which could be obtained in this town.  it can only accomodate twenty five scholars.  He receives one dollar per month from each of his pupils, and he is perfectly competant to teach the primary branches.  The Freedmen of the County will have a building of their own in a few months  They having subscribed liberally towards it
