Sir:
I have the honor to report that the general condition of freedmen's affairs in this County is quiet; much more so than when I came to the county two months ago. Litigations in regard to the division of the crops has not yet commenced. I have had few complaints made to me by white or black.
The population of this place is greater than the business will support and when the U.S. Burial Corps ceases labor here I do not know what great numbers of the freedmen will do. A few of them are going south to settle on the public lands. I laid the matter before them when I first came
